Places
This is a series of drawings made with markers and fineliners, which began with the piece “Chimneys” in 2021. I am usually inspired by places I’ve seen before, travels, and sometimes the works arise entirely from imagination. I am particularly interested in industrial landscapes and original buildings. I process them in my imagination and, after some time, transfer them to paper as I remember them.

I noticed that the various elements of a building — extensions added over the years, electrical installations, gutters, and window openings — form a harmonious composition. The color scheme of the drawing largely reflects reality, although it is also partly impressionistic: in some areas saturated, and in others, lightened.

I developed the idea of the architectural composition in the next drawing, which — unlike the previous one — was created entirely from imagination. The colors, in addition to serving an illustrative function, also play a compositional role. In a sense, the drawing has a modular character — the whole can be divided into smaller sections that can function independently.
